Hospitals such as BartsHealthNHSTrust, RoyalLondonHospital and StBartholomew'sHospital have officially introduced DaVinciSurgicalSystem. According to reports, a total of 7 departments of the above hospitals will use the Da Vinci surgical system sponsored by the BartsCharity organization for the patient's surgery. Physician Kelvin Lau said that because many people were physically weak and unable to perform surgical operations, such as some cancer cases, the only option in the past was only radiation therapy that was not as effective as surgery. RoyalLondon Hospital plans to use the Da Vinci surgical system for 500 patients each year by 2020 and applies 6 departments including gynaecology, urology, colorectal, hepatobiliary, transplantation and head and neck surgery. Robotic surgery is not the first pioneering technique used by St Bartholomew's Hospital. In October 2017, Virtual Reality (VR) helped doctors around the world perform surgery for a cancer patient at the Royal London Hospital.
